10/31/99 Nearby Report

A beautiful day greeted 23 Scouts and numerous adults for our annual Near-by campout held on Halloween weekend. If you weren't able to attend, you missed a gorgeous day and a good time by all. As usual, BB guns, 22 rifle, and shotgun shooting were on the agenda and returning this year was archery. The representative from the Coloradao Department of Wildlife, Mark Cousins, was unable to attend due to the opening of 3rd Season for Elk hunting.

Our thanks is extended to Tony Clark, Stuart Leach, and Barry Sinkey for their special assistance in making this year's event another resounding success.

As you know, we collected a $7.00 fee to cover the cost of ammunition and supplies used for the shooting. An anonymous individual, however, donated all ammunition and supplies we consumed. To the anonymous donor (whoever you are!), we extend our sincere appreciation and thanks.

As a result of the donation, Troop 75 will refund the $7.00 cost to anyone who paid the original fee, as desired. Those that choose not to seek a refund can consider the $7.00 a tax-deductible donation to Troop 75. To obtain a refund, see Joe Cunningham at an upcoming meeting.
